Yes, this is a Single Ladies post. Dubbed the more 'urban Sex And The City', this show is a fest for all fashion fanatics. The protagonist Val( Pictured) wears the most amazing pieces. Personally the blend of vintage pieces and couture lines is a winning formula. The southern flair in the styles is well reflected by the resident designer on the show Anthony L. Williams, who stems from the Deep South

Side Note: Stacey Dash ( Val) left the show due to family reasons but I thing you and I know that whatever was going on behind the Scenes caused her to leave. What a shame, let's hope they'll find a suitable replacement because Stacey WORE the outfits like no one else! I'm completely obsessed with the show and I can't wait for the new season to begin!

VINTAGE Footwear.

The main reason I'm writing this post is to gain insight into my readers' opinions on vintage footwear.

To be honest, I've always avoided second-hand footwear like the plague.
The thought of sharing a shoe with someone who could have sweat into it, not worn socks, or even worse, had some sort of foot infection, has always freaked me out.
And the fact that I don't particularly care for feet hasn't helped me very much either.

HOWEVER, this view was somewhat altered when I was in Urban Outfitters on Wednesday, and spied what were possibly the most perfect boots I have ever seen.
I've been on the hunt for some great black leather boots for quite some time now, and have finally come to accept that what I'm looking for will probably only be available in vintage.
Black, woven leather, lace-up boots with a little heel, they were exactly what I'd been searching for. And what's more, they fit me!

After much humming and hawing, I left the store without the boots.
Why?
Because I simply could not overcome my fear. When the boots were on my feet, I could feel the imprint of the previous owner and found myself almost shuddering at the thought.

Two days later, however, after trawling the internet and finding nothing worth comparing them to, I find myself wondering if I shouldn't just go back and buy the originals.
At €50, the price wasn't outrageous, and they did look great with my jeans..

TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY?; that is the question.

There's this small, tiny in fact store that’s closing up, and i just happened to pass by and spot this gem in the window. You see round F***** things don’t come for cheaps but as soon as he told me the price  I was sold.  I was ready to cough up big time. Less than £30 for a hand-stitched, Victorian inspired dress= Good Day! Also don't i look like a child???

Imma go all Jane Eyre on your asses now :)

As with the hiatus, i'm still on it but I felt like blogging...

I’m feeling very vintage as of late, very Madame like. Maybe it’s the sunshine, maybe it’s not exfoliating- to that- I used to exfoliate EVERYDAY, especially my face. Everyday I practically scrubbed my face with Sand etc. Seriously dudes my face was sore, irritated and flaky. And I thought that was normal.  *shaking head*

So yeah i was informed that that was actually the worst thing that I could do to my face. Up until last week I was a cleanser-virgin. I have never cleansed my face EVER. I totally recommend Lush’s 9 to 5 cleanser. It’s Lush, see what I did there???
 
So from now on. moisturising daily, exfoliating at most 3x a week…..

HAUL: Wild Child Kilo Sale.

Wild Child, one of Dublin's most popular vintage stores, is doing an amazing sale throughout the months of March and April; you can pick out 1kg of clothing (it includes everything in the store) and bag the lot for just €20.  They're getting new stuff in all the time, and it's absolutely great.  I went today and picked up 2 tops, 2 silk shirts and 2 bags which came to just under a kilo.  It made my day.

these black and white tops are the same, except the black one is slightly longer.  They are a little too big for me, but look great tucked into a skirt, shorts or pair of high waisted jeans.

(this leather clutch is my favourite of the lot- sorry about the reflection in the picture!)

I really felt like I got fantastic value for my money today!

BROWN SATCHEL, ANYONE?

Starting University this past Autumn has, for me, really brought to light the almost revolutionary idea that “anything goes”.  Between Trinity campus itself, and the Temple Bar and Georges Street areas of Dublin, plus a few nights out, I have been fortunate enough to witness some of the craziest get-ups of all time.

Perhaps not surprisingly, many of the choice outfits on display actually work, and I’ve found them to be quite inspiring.  I usually find myself picking out my clothes with a picture in my head.  A picture, maybe, of someone that I’ve seen, or an outfit I’ve seen in a magazine, or that I’ve compiled in my head.  Not to say I lack the originality to be able to piece together my own looks (I waste far too much time and money doing so), I just find myself easily inspired by articles or random passers-by.

And so, as a result of all my observations, the hunt for the perfect brown side bag begins.  Or resumes, maybe.. I did get a gorgeous brown satchel from Urban Outfitters  as a birthday present from my lovely boyfriend, but it is (sadly) not big enough to house my ever expanding collection of college books, plus my Mac Book, phone, wallet, planner, pens and what ever other academic paraphernalia I need to have constantly at hand.  Just today I visited “The Harlequin” vintage boutique on Castle Market, and a couple of other vintage stores around the area but alas, no luck.  I guess everyone’s looking for them!  Everyone seems to have them.  So the search continues, perhaps I can check Ebay..
