Primark ss2011

People don’t give Primark enough credit, i for one love Primark. It really does depend on what you buy, i hardly see people wearing the same things as me. but then i go to Topshop and before I can say ‘Primani’  half of London is wearing the same coat as me. Excited about this collection is an understatement.

The World Of Hip Hop Honeyz BBC3

It was quite an eye opener, none of these girls seemed totally okay with what they were doing, yet chose to ignore all the bad sides in the quest of fame and fortune. "Look at Amber Rose" they quipped... I had to remind myself that sex sells-reality. What slightly upset me was the fact that one girl was classed as too dark, another thing learned one can be too dark to shake ones booty. I see. Also luring these girls to their dubious video shoots in back alleys is something out of a sex offenders handbook. I mean what's next,  Seeking Video Hoes, Payment In Form Of Sexual Assault??? In general the  men's attitudes towards women were quite shocking, in particular one guy's perception of what was expected of a video hoe, as he put it, was to bend down and show her tits.Then again, some of these women let themselves be treated that way, and are fully aware of the dangers. But hey they're 'hustlin' innit.

I'm slightly annoyed as the aim of the program was to convey the dangers of this world, yet in the end even the presenter, the lovely girl she was, succumbed to the charm of the video vixen world. She nearly cried when they told her that they could put her into a video. She seemed to enjoy herself amid all the scantly clad females... One good thing though,  i might be sitting on some considerable assets( see what I did there). 7 Grand is a lot, now If I could pay my tuition fees with my bum, I'm sure some girls have tried...

Miz Moffatt Tumbles into 2011

2011 -- *Sparklesglitterfireworksnoisemakers!!*

So, the calendar mentioned it was January 3rd, and I had yet to make a new update regarding the shiny new year with all the shiny new potential therein. The 2010/2011 split was one of self-projection into a better world, kids. I am looking ahead and erasing the dregs of the past. Yes, I am going to scrabble with all the mettle in me to make 2011 one hell of a lot better than 2010 was on average.

I vow this now.

Ah, such epic sentiment. I blame this on the sudden, intense craving for all the sci fi literature within a ten-mile radius. I know the last entry I made on Cute, Queer, Canadian was Dec. 17th, 2010, and I swear, the time in between was flooded with space ships and time travel and steampunk and imagined worlds, etc. etc. I was a nerd. A nerd with a sweet discount at a book store for goodness gracious.

The need subsides, and I am re-awakening to the real world, now.

So, goals -- I'm in the process of compiling a list (you know, because I never ever compile a list, right?) I re-assessed the 101 in 1001 list I made back in 2009, and I've decided to scrap it. Circumstances around me have changed, and I understand now the goals I'd assigned back then are not at all useful (for the most part) when it comes to re-structuring my current life. Most of the 101 items were generated in an attempt to fill the list in the first place. And filler is killer when coupled with a list of that nature.

The end result: RE-VAMP.

Now is the sparkly time of possibilities, and I am determined to tackle those dreams NOW. I like the idea of the 1001 days, since it gives me a bit more breathing space (and since funds will not allow me to pursue everything I'd like in 2011). But it is a start, and I always like a good send-off.

More to follow on that front, of course.

For now, I leave you with the best wishes for 2011, and a high-five all around for the queer kids and the allies in this new decade.

CHRISTMAS GIFTS 2010; belated post.

I realise that my posts are slightly muddled.  This is because I've had to borrow my brother's laptop to blog, because my Mac is refusing to connect to the Internet.  I'm having to write the posts on my iPad, and then upload pictures using the laptop.  Not ideal, to say the least.

I love presents as much as the next person.  I love shopping for them, I love wrapping them, I love giving them, and I obviously love receiving them.  This year was no different, and I received a few gems, courtesy of my wonderful family and amazing boyfriend.

Vintage Polaroid camera;
I believe that this beauty dates back to either the late 80s or early 90s, and was Peter's present to me this Christmas.  I've wanted one of these for as long as I can remember so it was a really thoughful gift, and I was absolutely overjoyed to open the box and find this sitting inside, nestled in gold tissue paper!  Though it is quite expensive to run (8 high quality black and white pictures cost a whopping €30) I will definitely treasure this gift for years to come, and it was probably what excited me most this Christmas.

Blue silk shirt;
I had my eye on this shirt in  a few weeks, and lo and behold, it popped up under the tree, a gift from my mom.  Seeing as it's 100% silk, it feels lovely to wear.  The shade of blue also perfectly compliments the camel colour which I've been lusting after this season.

Red GHD;
I asked for a new GHD this year, in either red or green.  I ended up with the red one, and I absolutely love it!  It came in a red satin quilted case, with a hard plastic case around it.  Compared to my old one, which was literally falling apart, this one is a work of art.

Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel;
This is my 'signature scent' I suppose you could say.  I got the same perfume last Christmas, and the bottle is almost gone!  I love it's luxurious and refreshing scent, and only a small spray is required to last all day long.

Of course I received other gifts this Christmas, but these are my four absolute favourites!  Hope everyone is still enjoying the holidays. x
