... if you happen to be Canadian, of course. Heck, even if you aren't, this is a day to be thankful for. I also believe no one would be averse to taking those turkey helpings from this blushing, doe-eyed vegetarian, hmm? We can negotiate a trade-off -- you take the meat, I'll take the Brussels sprouts.
Good? Good.
Awesome, even.
It's true -- the core requirement of the turkey dinner tends to be lost on this Moffatt. To add insult to injury for this holiday, I also don't eat pie. I know, what's wrong with me? What a strange child. But, one could argue that others would be thankful for my diet as it leaves them with extra helpings of the more lavish sections of the annual Thanksgiving Day feast.
See? So considerate of me.
I've been contemplating that same annual, grade-school Language Arts topic for the sake of this blog: "What are you thankful for?"
I don't know that the answer would be profound. I live with simple needs and am fulfilled in subtle ways. But, life is in the small moments, I think.
Activate list form, GO!
I Am Thankful for:
- A mug of soft, green tea in the morning
- An ever-expanding reading list chock-full of Canadian talent
- A quiet commute on the GO Train, filled with the literature listed above
- Arcade Fire's latest album, The Suburbs (serious you need to listen to this album)
- Another fall/winter season in our midst
- Age-inappropriate hours of anime and/or manga consumption
- (The fact that you all humour me a little during my excited, breathless discussions about recent anime/manga)
- Women, in all their glorious facets (especially if those facets are "general nerddom" and "mouth-watering musical talent")
Nothing too complex, yet oh-so delightful. Brilliant!
Happy Thanksgiving, kids!
