Tribal Clothing

I was always a bit weary when relatives returned from their travels with big bundles in their hand because i knew it spelt one thing…Traditional African Clothing also known as Ankara. Call me ashamed or uppity but until recently i swore never to wear one in ‘public’= everywhere where there’s no African function taking place. But growing older and becoming more comfortable with myself…goodness…and my culture(i was confused) i decided to just rock’em as maxi dresses come summer, seeing it’s one garment enforcing my minimal clothing attitude. And surprise surprise my  mum gifted me some lovely garments yesterday and which I will be showing at some point part of a massive haul.

AND THEN someone old me about Asos’s Africa Line, the excitement believe me.

Ohh They Have A Magazine!!!

I was browsing around and stumbled across The Asos Magazine. For the non-uk people Asos is a major online retailer much like Topshop just online and in my opinion slightly better…need convincing so yeah…this months cover girl is Kaya Scodelario, an English actress best known for playing Effy on Skins and starring in this spring’s  Clash Of the Titans.  Me thinks she’s adorable…

Welcome Out, Anna Paquin!

Gather 'round, ladies -- the hearts of queer women across the Blogoverse are all a-flutter with Anna Paquin's official (and rather public) coming out.

AfterEllen.com reported this morning on a PSA campaign launched over at WeGiveADamn.org designed to promote LGBT equality. The segment stars campaign creator Cyndi Lauper, Elton John, Clay Aiken, and Wanda Sykes, in addition to other celebrities lending their names to the project.

And, embedded within this powerful video is our girl Anna Paquin, now an out and proud bisexual woman. Ah, those countless hours dedicated to True Blood were not in vain.

While Ms. Paquin is engaged to her True Blood co-star, Stephen Moyer (aka. Bill the Vampire), it's a little enticing to think her eyes might still wander to a fair woman or two. Heck, even for her to give this blogette a once-over glance and a nod of approval would make the whole world sparkle.

Welcome Out, Anna Paquin. Glad to see you on this side of the rainbow.

P.S. -- This might be the nerd in me speaking, but.... was anyone else's first thought directed to the potential of a Rogue/Kitty Pryde romance? X-Men? Hmm? Perhaps?
